Rose City Women in Aviation, in conjunction with the Columbia Cascades 99’s, will be hosting our first annual scholarships workshop on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the pilot’s lounge at Pearson Field, as well as streaming live online, with the video available online afterward.  This workshop is open to everyone, not just our members.

Doors open at 5:30pm. The seminar starts at 6:30pm and will be roughly 90 minutes, with time for questions, and time available afterward for mingling or working on your own applications.  Doors close at 9pm.

Principal speaker Teresa Bubb of the 99’s will use the Amelia Earhart scholarship to guide her presentation, speaking about the essay and other documents required and what scholarship committees are looking for.

Camas Washougal Aviation Association‘s president and Flyit Academy CFI, Jason Nemeroff will discuss how he and his team at CWAA evaluate essays.

Columbia Cascades 99’s, chapter chair. Cat Keller, will take us through one of the more confusion items for non-commercial pilots: resumes.  What do student pilots and those who don’t fly as a career at the moment put on one of those?  Cat will tell us.

Women in Aviation’s SOAR program coordinator, Gina Calvario will close out our seminar with a presentation and discussion on organization to make applying for more than one scholarships easier and without having to start from scratch each time.

In-person seating is limited to 30.  RSVP’ing is on a first-come basis, though the livestream will be limitless.
