On Memorial Day, we will gather to honor the Women Airforce Service Pilots—courageous women who flew every aircraft in the U.S. military during 1933 and 1934. Please plan to arrive by 8:20 AM. The exact location will be deterined closer to the day. Due to expected heavy traffic, we encourage everyone to carpool if possible.

The event begins at Willamette National Cemetery, which includes a fairly steep downhill slope in some areas. For those with mobility concerns, a shuttle will be available to help you return to the top of the hill. While the event concludes around 4:00 PM, there is no scheduled lunch break, so we recommend bringing easy-to-carry snacks you can eat while walking between locations or as we visit different graves within the cemetery.  We then go to Kaiser Wilhelm and River View.

You are not required to stay for the full day. If you’d prefer to join partway through, please call Noëlle at 971-295-7262, and feel free to leave early if needed.

If you’d like to learn more about the WASP in advance, you can read more here Honor the WASP https://www.rosecitywomeninaviation.com/honorthewasp/. These women were once forgotten by history, and it took years for them to prove their service. Today, their legacy is again at risk of being erased. We owe it to them to remember.

Pretend there’s a cool logo here.
There will be one soon!

Last year’s scholarship seminar was a great success, and we’re excited to bring it back. With the high cost of aviation, learning how to improve your chances of earning a scholarship can make a big difference.

This year’s seminar will take place on August 27th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Pilots Lounge at Pearson Field.

There are two ways to attend:

In-person seating is limited and requires a reservation. We will also stream the seminar online, with the link shared closer to the date. A recording will be available afterward for those who can’t attend live.

The list of speakers will be announced once all are confirmed. Stay tuned!

Last year’s Girls in Aviation Day was a huge success, far beyond anything we imagined with an estimated 500 people in attendance.  We do welcome boys as well.  All children and teens and their families are invited.

This year, we’re excited to bring it back on September 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the FlyIt Academy Hangar at Grove Field in Camas.

We’re still in the early stages of planning, but we’ll be announcing our list of exhibitors as the event gets closer. We hope to see all of you there again for another incredible day of inspiration, exploration, and aviation fun!
